India trying to create national sentiment against Kashmir: Qazi Yasir

Prominent religious scholar and the Chairman of Ummat-e-Islami, Qazi Yasir has said that India is trying to create national sentiment against Kashmir and its people.

Qazi Yasir addressing a public gathering at Jamia Masjid in Islamabad town said, “The civilians killed in Army firing in Shopian and later the FIR against them was a tricky disguise to create media hype around it wherein Indian forces were presented as victims and hence fired in self-defence which has ended the scope for anyone expressing sympathy with Kashmir.”

He condemned the arrest of youth during cordon and search operations in Shopian, Kulgam and other parts of south Kashmir. He said that south Kashmir had been turned into a military garrison and new army camps were coming up every week.

Qazi Yasir said dialogue is the only path to resolve longstanding issues and Indian and Pakistani diplomats and politicians should sit on a table of negotiations to settle all their pending disputes and invite representation from all sections of society in Kashmir to help them resolve the Kashmir dispute.

He prayed for the early recovery of Jmamu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, who is admitted in Soura hospital in Srinagar. He also demanded release of all political Kashmiri prisoners including Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Sarjan Barkati, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Mehmood Topiwal, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Fayaz Ahmed Talaq and Irfan Ahmed Khan.
